What have I been sewing on my Insta hiatus? Nothing.

But. I did complete my very first punch needle project ✨ A mushroom themed tiny rug 😃🍄

Seeing as I was absent for the whole of the summer

Seeing as I was absent for the whole of the summer, I thought I’d do a summer reel with some of my most worn #memade outfits of the summer. Whether I’m posting them or not, I’m forever rocking my #memadewardrobe 👙

👋 I’m back 👋 What was meant as a brief break from Insta turned into an almost 4 month hiatus. Whoops! 🤷‍♀️

I found that once I was off the app, I didn’t crave it as much and that’s the way I would like to keep it going forward. The reason I decided to take a break in the first place was to ‘reset’ my mental health and it worked! In a bid to maintain a healthier balance, I intend on spending a lot less time on the app which may mean being less active, spending less time on posts, less scrolling and less interaction. It will be sad to lose some of those things but I have to make sacrifices for the sake of my mental health - self care and all that! 💆🏻‍♀️

Also, sorry if I’ve missed any messages etc in the time I was away!

I’m also taking this opportunity to step back from Instagram for a while. My mental health is in the gutter at the moment so I need time to focus on myself. Although this app feeds me in many ways, the negatives are outweighing the positives for me and I want to get back to a place where I am enjoying the time I’m spending on here rather than compulsively scrolling. Not sure how long I’ll be off, but I’m going to take however long I need 💆🏻‍♀️

Still playing catch up on my #memademay2022 . This is day 22, the day we left the campsite. Classic British weather was at play during our 3 days away. It was chucking it down on the way there but by day 3 it was blaring sunshine 🫠 As you might imagine, it was pretty difficult to anticipate what weather we might come across which made packing an absolute fools errand.

Luckily I packed these culottes in an optimistic moment- light and airy, they’re perfect for the heat! Paired with my ikat ‘boys shirt’, they’re a dreamy combination.

I’m playing catch up on my #memademay posts as I went on a camping trip over the weekend.
.

While there I took a bus to Oxford from the campsite for a day trip. It’s the first time I’ve been and I loved it! The combination of pretty architecture, whimsical shops and artiness won my heart - not to mention the abundance of bikes! 😍 As a city it doesn’t feel too overwhelming and strikes a lovely balance between modernity and quaintness.

Outfit wise I wore my trusty pink cords with my hacked @fibremood Norma blouse, plus my @petiteknit #holidayslipover for some added warmth. My scrap busting memade headband kept the hair out of my face while my 8+ year old leather back pack make kept all my goodies safe for the day.
